Jo Fenn is climbing the ratings as an athlete and country singer.
She has two hits in the European country music chart: Let Me Down Gently is at Number 25, and A Healing Touch is Number 30. She is pleased with her success, particularly as there was competition from more than 500 songs played on European radio stations.
Jo, who sold the rights for some of her songs to an American-based publishing company, hopes her single Reach, to be released in March/April, will also be a hit.
Jo lives in Barnet and runs for Woodford Green and Essex Ladies. She struck a high note in her track career, breaking through the two-minute barrier with 1min 58.86secs when seventh in the 800m final at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in July.
After being selected to run for Britain in an indoor international in Glasgow on Sunday, she had to withdraw through injury.
After fears that Jo had a stress fracture of the foot, x-rays revealed only bruising and inflammation, and she runs in the Birmingham Grand Prix on Sunday. She will return there for the World Indoor Championships in March.
Her target for the season is a medal in the World Championships in Paris in August. If she achieves that, she may well burst into song.
