FOOTBALL: The North London-based Dodo Club represented England on a recent trip to France.

The club fielded two adult teams and a junior side in the friendly tournament at Lillebonne FC.

The Dodo Club adult teams contained players from the age of 17 to 60, while the juniors were aged between seven and 12.

Faz Hyda, Dodo Club chairman and founder, said: "The town of Lillebonne made us feel so welcome. We are privileged to have been invited to play in their stadium and are grateful for all the efforts that went into organising the event. The trip allowed us and our families to experience the French culture and forge new relationships which will bring huge benefits for the club."

Lillebonne and its mayor were so impressed with the UK team and its ethos, it is now planning to launch a French subsidiary of the Dodo Club in the region. Both teams will work together to advance and expand the club internationally.

This is the third trip abroad for the Dodo Club, after twinning with the French town of Coquelles two years ago. A trip to Germany is planned next year.

The Dodo Club was founded in 1989. The club's ethos of football, family and friendship underpins all of its activities.

JUNIOR FOOTBALL: Mill Hill Rangers U14s have won the double.

The side scooped the Middlesex Cup and Harrow Youth League Premier Division, despite losing two players to Football League clubs during the campaign.

They are now looking for new players and a sponsor for next season. Call Vince on 020 8931 6169.

* Arsenal Football Club will be holding soccer sessions at Martin Junior School, Plane Tree Walk, East Finchley on Tuesday, May 27 until Friday, May 30 (10am-3pm).

The Arsenal Soccer Schools are for boys and girls aged seven to 12.

ATHLETICS: Barnet & District athletes had a good day at the Hertfordshire County Championships.

Richard Gamble was first in the men's senior 5000m, while Kate Barber triumphed in the U15 800m. Charlotte Wingfield, in the same age group, gained second places in the 100m, 200m and long jump.

For the U13s, Chloe Horne was first in the long jump and second in the 100m and 200m. Ellie Holland was third in the shot, while Beth Carter gained a second place in the 800m.

Rhys Thompson was a winner in the long jump, while also gaining second places in the 100m and 200m.

CYCLING: Finchley Racing's new Colombian rider, Johnny Torres, claimed third place in the Lea Valley race in Essex, run over 90 miles.

Edgar Medellin was tenth and Vince Divine 15th.

This result means that Finchley Racing now heads the Essex Road Racing League table, while Divine leads the individual competition.

Meanwhile, in Huntingdon, Costas Pierides grabbed sixth place in the Anglo Polymers event over 60 miles. Peirs Brown was tenth on a difficult circuit.

WOMEN'S FOOTBALL: Hendon Ladies beat London Colney 9-4 to secure eighth place in the final table.
