A civic commemoration will be held in the Memorial Garden of Hendon Park at 8am tomorrow, to remember the nine Barnet residents killed in last year's July 7 London bombings The event, which will begin at 8am to mark the time that the victims would have left their homes for a normal day's work, will include readings by representatives from different faith groups in the borough, as well as a one-minute silence. The Mayor of Barnet, Councillor Eva Greenspan, will also lay a wreath of flowers.
A Walk of Remembrance, involving people of different faiths, will take place in West Hendon to acknowledge the common goal of peaceful existence'. The walk is due to begin at 2.30pm at the Hendon Mosque in Brent View Road, and finish at the Church of St John the Evangelist in Algernon Road.
The event will include the planting of an olive bush, as well as singing from the choir from Parkfield Primary School, St David's Place, Hendon. Refreshments will be provided at the end of the walk.
